Excellent opportunities now exist to join a growing and international Marine Design Bureau which carries out innovative design, engineering and technical support for the construction of civil and military vessels. ERI-MARINE is developing high speed stabilized monohull technology which is being successfully marketed worldwide.

We are looking for Naval Architects, Marine Engineers and Draughtsmen.

1) Position: NAVAL ARCHITECT

Degree qualified in Naval Architecture or similarly related subject, this position involves ensuring efficient use of professional and rigorous engineering resources within the group. The areas of responsibility will be typically:

- Hydrostatics (e.g.: Trim & Stability)
- Hydrodynamics (e.g.: Resistance and Powering, Seakeeping, Manouvering)
- Arrangements (e.g.: Concept design, Volume & Access)
- Structures (e.g.: Global Strength, Seaway Responses)

Working knowledge of classification societies, in particular relating to the High Speed Craft Code; and experience of CAD software and marine specific computational tools is required.

By necessity creative people, candidates must be able to work as part of a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills. They must be well organised and motivated in order to handle different projects, and able to integrate the inputs of many others to achieve a balanced and coherent whole.

2) Position: MARINE ENGINEER

This position requires a degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or other engineering discipline with related experience. Practical experience of the following marine propulsion systems would be an advantage: diesel engines, gas turbine engines, heavy fuel oil systems, waterjets, lightweight composite drivetrains.

This position would be responsible for the design and specifications of machinery rooms, ship systems, system diagrams, functional pipe work layout, reviewing propulsion calculations, power balance calculations and fire, safety, environmental aspects etc. The position includes liaisons with manufacturers to specify details of all equipment, integration of system and preparation of technical specifications.

The successful candidate must be able to work in an environment that includes teams, and independent work, as well as work on multiple projects with possible daily changes in priority and assignments. The successful candidate must possess a meticulous and detailed oriented working behaviour to work closely within the engineering group.

3) Position: NAVAL DESIGNER / DRAUGHTSMAN

Working knowledge of naval engineering either by education or equivalent relevant experience in naval industry, you will be involved in all marine design aspects related to the ERI-MARINE Fast Vessels. You will play an active support role in ship design, utilizing your experience and background. You will be in charge for the execution of the drawing activities and ensure that plans meet the specified level of quality and are delivered as per planning schedules.

Your approach is pragmatic and operation minded and you show creativity, flexibility, discipline and initiative. You demonstrate professional development by maintaining a positive attitude and sharing expert advice in a professional manner.

Experience with AutoCAD is essential, knowledge of other CAD software (for example Rhino3D) or marine specific software is beneficial.
