BGV France receives letter of intention for five trimarans
At the end of October, BGV France revealed that it has received “a letter of intent for the purchase of five BGV high speed vessels for ro-ro and passenger services” from a company called Chikara Shipping.
The French design house, which has been developing a series of large trimaran ferries for several years, also said, "BGV vessels will be operated on several lines on the English Channel as well as on the North Sea, including services to and from the hub port of Boulogne-sur-Mer.
"In order to face the forecast development of its high speed maritime services, Chikara Shipping has also put an option on four more BGV craft."
Boulogne Chamber of Commerce plans to have a BGV hub port finished by the end of 2007
